The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 By the angels hastening, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
