Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
We sent Noah to his people telling him, "Warn your people before a painful torment approaches them". 1 He said: "O my people! Verily, I am a plain warner to you, 2 Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me. 3 “He will forgive you some of your sins, and give you respite up to an appointed term; indeed the promise of Allah cannot be averted when it arrives; if only you knew.” 4 He said: “My Lord, I called my people by night and by day, 5 "But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right). 6 Every time I have called to them, so that You might forgive them, they have only thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance. 7 Then I invited them publicly. 8 and spoke to them in public and in private." 9 And I told them: 'Ask your Lord to forgive you. He is verily forgiving. 10 He will shower upon you torrents from heaven, 11 And help you with wealth and sons, and make for you gardens, and make for you rivers. 12 What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur 13 when He has created you through different stages of existence? 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 And hath placed the moon therein for a light, and hath made the sun a lamp? 16 God produced you from the earth like a vegetable growth; 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 how God has spread the earth out for you 19 So that you may walk upon its spacious paths.' 20
