And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat. 33 And We have placed therein gardens of the date-palm and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein, 34 So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Exaltations to Him who created pairs of all the things the earth produces and of themselves, and that of which they have no knowledge. 36 And there is a sign in the night for them. We strip off the day from it and they are left in darkness, 37 And the sun runs his course for a period determined for him: that is the decree of (Him), the Exalted in Might, the All-Knowing. 38 We have appointed stages for the moon till it returns in the shape of a dry old branch of palm-tree. 39 It is not for the sun to catch up with the moon, nor does the night surpass the day; and each one of them floats in its orbit. 40 And a token unto them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship, 41 And We have created for them similar (vessels) on which they ride. 42 And if We will, We can drown them, so there would be no help in their distress, nor would they be saved. 43 Except as a mercy from Us and provision for a time. 44 And when it is said to them: "Beware of that which is before you (worldly torments), and that which is behind you (torments in the Hereafter), in order that you may receive Mercy (i.e. if you believe in Allah's Religion Islamic Monotheism, and avoid polytheism, and obey Allah with righteous deeds). 45 And there comes not to them a communication of the communications of their Lord but they turn aside from it. 46 And when it is said to them, 'Expend of that God has provided you,' the unbelievers say to the believers, 'What, shall we feed such a one whom, if God willed, He would feed? You are only in manifest error!' 47 And they say: when will this promise be fulfilled if ye say sooth? 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 then they will not be able to make any testament, nor will they return to their people. 50
