The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe to the defrauders, 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 unto a mighty day 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 It is a written book. 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!" 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire. 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 It is a Book inscribed, 20 Which is witnessed by the close ones. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 And its mixture is of Tasneem, 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? 36
