Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer 1 Who amasses wealth and hordes it. 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? 5 A fire kindled by God, 6 Which leaps up over the hearts, 7 (And) vaults them over 8 in towering columns. 9

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
