The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
