'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 And ease my task for me; 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 "That they understand my speech, 28 “And appoint for me a viceroy from among my family.” 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen my back by him, 31 and associate him with me in my task. 32 so that [together] we might abundantly extol Thy limitless glory 33 and remember Thee abundantly. 34 "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us." 35 [Allah] said, "You have been granted your request, O Moses. 36 And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, 37 When We told your mother what We relate: 38 "Saying: 'Put him (the child) into the Tabut (a box or a case or a chest) and put it into the river (Nile), then the river shall cast it up on the bank, and there, an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his shall take him.' And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye, 39 Then your sister followed you, and said (to the people who had retrieved the child): 'Should I guide you to a person who can nurse him?' We thus brought you back to your mother that her heart may be cheered, and she may not grieve. (Remember) when you killed a man We saved you from anguish; and tested and steeled you (in other ways). Afterwards you sojourned for several years with the people of Midian; then you came up to the measure, 40 And I have attached thee to Myself. 41 Go thou and thy brother with My signs, and slacken not in remembrance of Mine. 42 Go, both of you, unto Pharaoh. Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 43 Then say to him a gentle saying; haply he may be admonished or he may fear. 44 They said: "Our Lord! Verily! We fear lest he should hasten to punish us or lest he should transgress (all bounds against us)." 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. 46 So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. 47 ‘It has indeed been revealed to us that the punishment is upon the one who denies and turns away.’” 48 Pharaoh said:" Moses! Who is the Lord of the two of you?" 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 Said Firaun, “What is the state of the former generations?” 51 He said, “Their knowledge is with my Lord, (recorded) in a Book; my Lord neither strays nor forgets.” 52 Who made the earth for you an expanse and made for you therein paths and sent down water from the cloud; then thereby We have brought forth many species of various herbs. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle, (therein); verily, in this are proofs and signs for men of understanding. 54
