The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again 4 On a mighty Day. 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin. 7 And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is? 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!” 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 Nay! Surely, they (evil-doers) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day. 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? 19 A Register inscribed. 20 The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 On couches face to face. 23 You will recognise the freshness of serenity on their faces. 24 They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers 25 The last thereof (that wine) will be the smell of musk, and for this let (all) those strive who want to strive (i.e. hasten earnestly to the obedience of Allah). 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 a fountain at which do drink those brought nigh. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And upon seeing the Muslims, they used to say, “Indeed they have gone astray.” 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
