NAY, but consider the moon! 32 by the retreating night, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 Warn the men. 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 From the guilty. 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
