The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
