The Key (Al-Faatehah)

7 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir) before Thorns (Al-Masad)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful 1

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, 2 Most beneficent, ever-merciful, 3 The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) 4 It is You we worship and You we ask for help. 5 Guide us to the straight path - 6 the path of those whom Thou hast blessed, not of those against whom Thou art wrathful, nor of those who are astray. 7
