The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
