The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 there is no denying its coming 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few from the latter. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 and waters gushing, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And raised couches; 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 And have made them virgins. 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For those on the right hand; 38
