And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? 225 and they say what they do not do? 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
