The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 But As-Saihah (torment - awful cry etc.) overtook them in the early morning (of the fourth day of their promised punishment days). 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Your Lord is the Creator, the Knower. 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not yearn for other people's property and wives and do not grieve (that they do not believe). Be kind to the believers. 88 And say thou: verily I! I am a plain warner. 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 for whatever they have done! 93 Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah. 94 For sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff,- 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
