The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 Who guard their sex 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 And those who keep proper regard for their trusts and their pledges. 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 Then We made the seed a clot, then We made the clot a lump of flesh, then We made (in) the lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We caused it to grow into another creation, so blessed be Allah, the best of the creators. 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 And We sent down from the heaven water in measure, and We caused it to settle in the earth; and verily to take it away We are Able. 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 Also, a tree which grows on the Tor of Sinai and gives oil and relish for its eaters. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
