The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Indeed, there came upon the human a period of time when he was an unremembered thing. 1 Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. 2 Verily, We have shown him the way: [and it rests with him to prove himself] either grateful or ungrateful. 3 Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains and shackles and a burning fire. 4 But the righteous shall drink of a goblet mixed with camphor; 5 A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance. 6 These will be the ones who fulfil their vows and dread the Day whose woe shall be spread far and wide; 7 And out of His love, they give food to the needy, the orphan and the prisoner. 8 (Saying): We feed you, for the sake of Allah only. We wish for no reward nor thanks from you; 9 "We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord." 10 Therefor Allah hath warded off from them the evil of that day, and hath made them find brightness and joy; 11 And their recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were patient. 12 In that [garden] they will on couches recline, and will know therein neither [burning] sun nor cold severe, 13 And close down upon them (shall be) its shadows, and its fruits shall be made near (to them), being easy to reach. 14 They will be served with silver dishes and crystal clear goblets. 15 goblets bright as crystal but made of silver, filled to exact measure. 16 And they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger 17 Which is a spring in Paradise called Salsabeel. 18 ۞ There boys of everlasting youth shall go about attending them: when you see them, you would think that they are scattered pearls. 19 When thou seest, thou wilt see there bliss and high estate. 20 Their garments will be of fine green silk, and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink. 21 Behold, this is your recompense and your endeavour has been appreciated. 22
