The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, 2 but who, when they measure or weigh for others, give less than their due. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 On a grievous day, 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 No! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun (heights above the heights). 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 It is a Book inscribed, 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 The virtuous will live in bliss, 22 Reclining on couches, looking on. 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 Wherefore Today, those who believed at the infidels are laughing, 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
