The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 and the drivers driving, 2 And thus proclaim the Message (of Allah)! 3 surely your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything between them; Lord of the Easts. 5 We have indeed adorned the lowest heaven with stars as ornaments. 6 And as protection against every rebellious devil 7 [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, 8 and driven away to suffer the necessary torment. 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 Then ask them whether they are stronger in creation or those (others) whom We have created. Surely We created them of firm clay. 11 Nay, you (O Muhammad SAW) wondered (at their insolence) while they mock (at you and at the Quran). 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 And whenever they see a sign, they mock at it. 14 And say, "This is not but obvious magic. 15 When we have become dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then verily be raised? 16 and perhaps also our forebears of old?" 17 Say: "Yea, indeed - and most abject will you then be!" 18 It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring. 19 They will say, "Ah! Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. 21
