Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Most Auspicious is He in Whose control is the entire kingship; and He is Able to do all things. 1 He created death and life so that He might test you, and find out which of you is best in conduct. He is the Mighty, the Most Forgiving One. 2 The One Who created the seven heavens atop each other; do you see any discrepancy in the creation of the Most Gracious? Therefore lift your gaze – do you see any cracks? 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 And certainly We have adorned this lower heaven with lamps and We have made these missiles for the Shaitans, and We have prepared for them the chastisement of burning. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there awaits the punishment of Gehenna (Hell) an evil arrival! 6 When they are cast into it, they will hear its roaring as it boils up, 7 well-nigh bursting with fury; [and] every time a host [of such sinners] is flung into it, its keepers will ask them, "Has no warner ever come to you?" 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'" 9 And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze." 10 They will confess to their sins, but the dwellers of hell will be far away from God's (mercy). 11 Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward. 12 Whether you speak in secret or aloud, He knows what is in every heart. 13 Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted? 14
