Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 a warning to humankind, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
