And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 when he turned to his Sustainer with a heart free of evil, 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
