The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
