Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
