Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 And then drew lots and was of those rejected; 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 So you and your deities 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
