The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 by the Promised Day, 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 The people of the fuelled blazing fire. 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Allah witnesses everything. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Has it come to you the story of the hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 that exists in a well-guarded tablet. 22
