Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven splits open. 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 And indeed there are some guardians over you. 10 Generous and recording, 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 to burn therein. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
