Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed be He in whose hand is the Kingdom -- He is powerful over everything -- 1 Who created death and life that He might try you as to which of you is better in deed. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving; 2 Who created the seven heavens one above another; you see no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent Allah; then look again, can you see any disorder? 3 Then return thy gaze again, and again, and thy gaze comes back to thee dazzled, aweary. 4 And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord will be the torment of Hell; and a hapless destination! 6 When they are flung therein they hear its roaring as it boileth up, 7 Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner? 8 They say: Yea, verily, a warner came unto us; but we denied and said: Allah hath naught revealed; ye are in naught but a great error. 9 And they shall say: Had we but listened or pondered, we should not have been among the inmates of the burning fire. 10 They will confess to their sins, but the dwellers of hell will be far away from God's (mercy). 11 Verily! Those who fear their Lord unseen (i.e. they do not see Him, nor His Punishment in the Hereafter, etc.), theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise). 12 Whether you speak in secrecy or aloud, (it is all the same to Allah). He even knows the secrets that lie hidden in the breasts of people. 13 How could He who created not know His own creation, when He alone is the Most Subtle in His wisdom and the All Aware? 14
