Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
