Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 raised couches, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
