Blessed be He Who hath placed in the heaven mansions of the stars, and hath placed therein a great lamp and a moon giving light! 61 And He it is who causes the night and the day to succeed one another, [revealing Himself in His works] unto him who has the will to take thought - that is has the will to be grateful. 62 For, [true] servants of the Most Gracious are [only] they who walk gently on earth, and who, whenever the foolish address them, reply with [words of] peace; 63 And who spend the night before their Lord, prostrate and standing, 64 Who say: 'Our Lord, turn from us the punishment of Gehenna, for its punishment is the most terrible; 65 Lo! it is wretched as abode and station; 66 who in their spending are neither extravagant nor stingy but maintain moderation, 67 those who never invoke any other deity besides God, nor take a life which God has made sacred, except with the right to do so, nor commit adultery. Anyone who does that shall face punishment: 68 doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection is his punishment, and therein he shall live, humbled, 69 Except those who repent and come to believe and do the right, for whom God will turn evil into goodness, for God is forgiving and kind. 70 And whoever repents and does good deeds – so he has inclined towards Allah with repentance as was required. 71 And those who witness not falsehood, and when they pass by some vanity pass by with dignity. 72 and who when they are reminded of the verses of their Lord, they do not fall down deaf and blind. 73 And who say: Our Lord! Vouchsafe us comfort of our wives and of our offspring, and make us patterns for (all) those who ward off (evil). 74 They will be rewarded the highest position in heaven, the recompense of their patience, and they will be welcomed with honour and greetings of peace. 75 Abiders therein: excellent it is as an abode and as a station. 76 Say: My Lord would not care for you were it not for your prayer; but you have indeed rejected (the truth), so that which shall cleave shall come. 77
