The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 The closing night, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 So where are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
