Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
