Therefore continue to give warning, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say:- "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!" 30 Say: 'Wait if you will; I shall be waiting with you' 31 Does their reason tell them to say this or is it because they are a rebellious people? 32 Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith! 33 Then let them bring an announcement like it if they are truthful. 34 Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Or is it they who created the heavens and the earth? No; the truth is that they lack sure faith. 36 [How could they?] Are thy Sustainer's treasures with them? Or are they in charge [of destiny]? 37 Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority. 38 Does God have daughters while you have sons? 39 Or do you demand any wages from them so that they are burdened with expense? 40 Or is the hidden with them, by which they pass judgements? 41 Or seek they to ensnare (the messenger)? But those who disbelieve, they are the ensnared! 42 Do they have any god other than Allah? Exalted be Allah above whatever they associate (with Him in His Divinity). 43 And if they should see a fragment of the heaven falling down, they would say: it is only clouds piled up. 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall (perforce) swoon (with terror),- 45 A day in which their guile will naught avail them, nor will they be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment besides this: But most of them understand not. 47 And wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, for surely you are before Our eyes, and sing the praise of your Lord when you rise; 48 and also celebrate His praise at night, and at the retreat of the stars. 49
