And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (of him) upon whom the Shaitans descend? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
