The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 I am for you an honest Messenger. 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 I ask of you no reward for this. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 Weigh your goods with proper balance 182 do not defraud people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not spread corruption in the land. 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
