Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split asunder so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In high empyrean 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
