And (remember) when your Lord called Musa (Moses) (saying): "Go to the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing), 10 The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)? 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 My breast is constricted and my tongue is not fluent, so endow Messengership on Aaron. 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they shall slay me. 14 He said, “Not like this (any more); both of you go with Our signs, We are with you, All Hearing.” 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 that you let the Children of Israel go with us.'" 17 (The Pharaoh) said: "Did we not bring you up as a child? And you lived a number of years of your life with us. 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel. 22 Pharaoh said: "And who is this Lord of the Universe?" 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 26 (The Pharaoh) said (to his nobles): "Your apostle who has been sent to you, is certainly mad." 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 Pharaoh said, "If you take any deity other than myself, I will throw you into prison," 29 He said, 'What, even though I brought thee something so manifest?' 30 [Pharaoh] answered: "Produce it, then, if thou art a man of truth!" 31 So Moosa put down his staff and it became a visible serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
