The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
