Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 and place it in a secure place 21 Till a limit known? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 The living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
