The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 there is no denying its coming 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 And a few from the latter. 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 and spreading shade 30 and gushing water, 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
