The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 by those that swim serenely 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 and gathered his people together 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
