Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 In a lofty garden, 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 and had not known my account. 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
