Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 noble, recording, 11 who know what you do. 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
