The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
