Nay, by the Moon 32 by the retreating night, 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 A warning for people -- 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 about the sinners. 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
