[AND the tribe of] Thamud gave the lie to [one of God's] message-hearers 141 When their brother Salih said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 142 I am for you an honest Messenger. 143 So fear Allah and obey me. 144 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 145 “Will you be left peacefully in these favours over here?” 146 "Gardens and Springs, 147 The fields of corn and date-palm trees with soft and tender spathes, 148 "And you carve houses out of mountains with great skill. 149 Therefor keep your duty to Allah and obey me, 150 And obey not the command of the prodigal, 151 "Who make mischief in the land, and mend not (their ways)." 152 They said, "You are only bewitched and insane. 153 You are only a human being like ourselves. Show us a sign, if you are telling the truth." 154 He said, "This is a she-camel. She will have her share of water as you have your share, each on a certain day. 155 Do not touch her with malice so that punishment of a dreadful day seizes you' 156 Yet they hamstrung her, and in the morning they were remorseful, 157 so the punishment came down upon them. Surely in that there is a sign, but most of them would not believe. 158 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
