Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 Generous and recording, 11 who know all that you do: 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 And what do you know of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
