Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 Generous and recording, 11 who know all that you do: 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
