If they belie you, say: 'I have my work, you have your work. You are quit of what I do, and I am quit of what you do' 41 And there are those of them who hear you, but can you make the deaf to hear though they will not understand? 42 Some of them look to you. But can you guide the blind, even though they do not see? 43 Surely God wrongs not men anything, but themselves men wrong. 44 And on the Day when He will gather them, [it will be] as if they had not remained [in the world] but an hour of the day, [and] they will know each other. Those will have lost who denied the meeting with Allah and were not guided 45 Whether We show thee a part of that We promise them, or We call thee unto Us, to Us they shall return; then God is witness of the things they do 46 And in every nation was a Noble Messenger (from Allah); so when their Noble Messenger came to them, they were judged with fairness, and they were not wronged. 47 They ask: 'If what you say is true, when will this promise come' 48 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "I have no power over any harm or profit to myself except what Allah may will. For every Ummah (a community or a nation), there is a term appointed; when their term is reached, neither can they delay it nor can they advance it an hour (or a moment)." (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi). 49 Say: "Tell me, - if His torment should come to you by night or by day, - which portion thereof would the Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals) hasten on?" 50 "Would ye then believe in it at last, when it actually cometh to pass? (It will then be said): 'Ah! now? and ye wanted (aforetime) to hasten it on!' 51 The wrong-doers will then be told: 'Suffer now the abiding chastisement. How else can you be rewarded except according to your deeds?' 52 They ask you, "Is that (punishment) true?" Tell them, "It certainly is. I swear by my Lord. You can not escape from (God's retribution)". 53
