The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
